Police seek suspect in fatal drive-by

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Sheriff's deputies are still looking for a suspect in a deadly drive-by shooting.

Bernalillo County Sheriff's Deputies said someone in a car shot and killed John Valenzuela, 19, just before 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The incident happened on Cordelia SW, near Rio Grande High School.

Valenzuela was hit once in the chest, and later died at the hospital.

Deputies arrested two suspects Louie Velarde, 16, and Lorenzo Velarde, 17.

Lorenzo is charged with a list of crimes including murder, shooting from a motor vehicle and child abuse. Police charged Louie with resisting, evading and eluding.

A third person was taken into custody, but was questioned and released.
