ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police confirmed Friday they have identified the remains of a two more people buried on Albuquerque's West Mesa.
The victims were identified as Veronica Romero, born in 1976, and Monica Candelaria, born in 1981.
At a news conference Friday morning, APD Chief Ray Schultz said officials now believe only 12 sets of remains have been found. Previously, officials believed 13 sets of remains, including an unborn fetus, were found buried near Sen. Dennis Chavez Boulevard and 118th Street SW since early February.
Four of the remains have been identified as women who had been reported missing, and police have been working to identify the rest.
