ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A former Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center corrections officer is accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate and getting pregnant while he was in jail.
Officer Reyna Lujan had resigned from the county lockup earlier this year, citing complications from her pregnancy. She had worked for the jail for two years.
According to Bernalillo County detectives, a confidential informant had tipped off an officer at the jail to the relationship she allegedly had with inmate Eric Brayman, who was being held on charges of trafficking a controlled substance.
Detectives had to sift through more than 300 phone calls between the inmate and the officer, which they said painted a clear picture of the alleged relationship.
According to the police report, Brayman had referred to Lujan as "my girl" and told her "it felt good when you touched me today."
During another call, Lujan told Brayman, "I need you," according to the report.
At one point, according to detectives, the two almost got caught when Lujan was called away from Brayman's pod and had to run out of his cell.
The District Attorney's office received the case on Tuesday and will decide if to file charges of criminal sexual penetration.
Brayman has since been released from jail and moved in with Lujan.
