ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - A suspect dubbed the "ether man" will be held in Pueblo, Colorado until he can be returned to New Mexico to face charges in the rapes of eleven Albuquerque women.
Robert Howard Bruce, 47, is being held on charges he tried to blow up the house of a police officer.
Bruce faces a total 44 counts in Bernalillo County, dating back to 1991.
The Albuquerque Police Department does not believe Bruce had anything to do with the murders of the women buried on the West Mesa, but they are investigating. "It is one thing we will look into. Exactly find out if he had been in Albuquerque during the times of the abductions in the missing women reported from the time of 2000 to 2005." said Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz.
Bruce will not be extradited to Albuquerque until the charges against him in Pueblo are resolved.
