ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A fight between two sisters turned deadly on Valentine's Day night, when one sister was stabbed to death.

Leslie Jose, 20, is now charged with her sibling's fatal stabbing.

Police still don't know what sparked the deadly violence between the pair.

When police arrived at the 8500 block of Marquette NE around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, they found a Native American woman in her 20s suffering from a stab wound to her torso.

She was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital where she died a few hours later.

Detectives said the two sisters were fighting, when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other.

There were three other people in the home at the time of the murder, but at this point in the investigation, police aren't saying what they may have seen.

"There was a gentleman in the home and there were two small children in the home," Albuquerque Police Department Officer Nadine Hamby said.

The name of the woman being charged with the murder won't be released until all their family is notified of the death.

Jose faces an open count of murder. She is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center with no bond.
