ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A $5,000 reward is being offered for anyone who can help bring the person, who shot a cat in the Northeast Heights, to justice.

Buddy is a 16-month-old cat that lives in the 4000 block of Stephanie Dr. NE, just East of Eldorado High School.

On Wednesday afternoon, Buddy was lethargic and huddled in a patio corner. When his guardian picked him up, he found blood.

An X-ray showed Buddy had been shot with a soft lead pellet.

Animal Protection of New Mexico is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

If you know anything, call 877-5-HUMANE.

Buddy is expected to survive.
