Burglar who skipped hearing sentenced

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man who burglarized several homes and businesses across the Albuquerque metro area was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison, just days after he walked out of court before a sentencing hearing.

The three-year term is the maximum Joe Cabral, 41, could have received under his plea agreement.

Cabral was scheduled to be sentenced for the same charges on Monday. As his turn approached, he asked to go to the restroom and walked out of the courthouse.
