ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Investigators believe a body found near Sedillo Hill Friday is an Albuquerque murder victim who's been missing since late February.
The U.S. Marshals Service also announced the arrest of a man named by his alleged accomplice as a participant in the murder. David McCarthy was arrested Friday in Austin, Texas, after a law-enforcement team led by marshals negotiated his surrender.
He and Travis Rigel, 18, face murder, kidnapping and other counts in the death of Felix Zamora, 48. Rigel was arrested Wednesday after confessing to pulling the trigger in the execution-style shooting of Zamora, according to a criminal complaint.
The complaint quoted Rigel as saying he and McCarthy called Zamora for help when their truck broke down. Zamora then gave the pair a ride to a home where they beat and bound him before taking him to the East Mountains where they shot him.
Rigel later led investigators to the murder scene but said he couldn't remember where they'd moved the body.
