Tiffany Toribio was kicked out of her mother's house where
she and her son Tyrese had been staying. Toribio then stayed with
friends at an apartment complex near Alvarado Park in Albuquerque,
NM.
May 12, 2009 - Tuesday
Friends kick Toribio out of their apartment saying she
treated the child poorly.
Toribio leaves in the afternoon, leaving the boy at the home, but returns early the next morning.
May 13, 2009 - Wednesday
Sometime in the morning police say Toribio took her son to
Alvarado Park where she killed and buried him.
Toribio returns to the friend's apartment, alone, to gather her belongings. She would not tell the friends where the boy was.
May 15, 2009 - Friday
Tyrese Toribio's body was found.
May 19, 2009 - Tuesday
The forensic recreation of Ty's face was released by
Albuquerque police Chief Ray Schultz at a news conference late
Tuesday.
May 20, 2009 - Wednesday
Police receive a tip on Wednesday, May 20, from a woman who
reported seeing a boy on Mother's Day who matched the composite
image police released. The caller said she had seen the boy at an
apartment a few blocks from Alvarado Park.
Investigators interviewed Toribio's friends who gave them the name and a picture of Tiffany Toribio.
Police release the picture of Toribio to the public and within hours Toribio was arrested at the corner of 3rd St SW and Central Ave NW.
It was sometime in the overnight hours that police say Toribio
confessed to killing her son.
