5-year-old spotted behind the wheel

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A 5-year-old girl was spotted behind the wheel of a pickup truck driving wildly on Albuquerque's West Side.

Police said the girl's father, Daniel McCoy, claimed he was trying to teach her to drive by sitting in his lap.

McCoy was arrested shortly after police spotted his pickup truck speeding and swerving near Dennis Chavez and 118th Street on Thursday afternoon.

McCoy is now charged with child abuse.

He's out of jail now on a $5,000 bond.
