CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say an Eddy County Detention Center officer has pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana.
Investigating officers say they recovered a small amount of the drug during a recent interview with Jonathan Munoz.
According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday in magistrate court, agents had approached Munoz for questioning about him allegedly taking illegal drugs and contraband into the jail for inmates.
Police say they recovered a bag of marijuana - less than one ounce - with an estimated street value of about $20 stuffed in a cigarette box which was wrapped in a bread bag.
Munoz reportedly told police that the marijuana was for his wife who uses it to aid in recovery from a car accident.
