HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - A Hobbs man faces charges of burglary and larceny for allegedly stealing from an evidence room at a Lea County Sheriff's Department substation.
Hobbs police spokesman Mike Stone says paperwork detailing the case against 34-year-old Nathan Soloman was completed this week.
Soloman is charged with two counts of commercial burglary, larceny of a firearm and larceny over $2,500.
Authorities discovered that evidence was missing last January while releasing cash seized during an investigation.
A deputy counted the cash and noticed several thousand dollars missing. The room was then secured and state police were called.
An audit was done, but authorities have not released details of what was missing from the evidence room.
