SANTA FE (KRQE) - A hit-and-run crash Tuesday injured four people, shut down Airport Road and has Santa Fe police looking for one driver who abandoned two passengers as he ran away.
The crash late Tuesday afternoon happened at Calle Atajo just west of Cerrillos Road southwestern Santa Fe.
The driver of a silver Acura fled on foot, Capt. Aric Wheeler told KRQE News 13.
Police reported the Acura driver hit a pickup truck flipping it over and then hit a gold sedan.
Two men in their late teens or early 20s were passengers in the Acura and are reported to be in serious condition at a Santa Fe hospital.
The drivers of the pickup and the sedan also were taken to the hospital.
All are expected to survive, according to police.
Investigators at last report had yet to figure out what happened and who ran a red light. They also don't know why the Acura's driver bolted from the scene.
Due to initial reports on the severity of the injuries police were treating the investigation as if it involved a fatality, Wheeler said.
As of 8 p.m. Airport Road remained closed between Cerrillos and Meadows Road.
