ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A heavily tattooed suspect arrested by Albuquerque police may be the barefoot and armed man who held up one bank on Monday and possibly a second bank on Tuesday.
Georges Hyatt, 45, of Moriarty was arrested at a motel in Albuquerque Wednesday by officers with the Albuquerque Police Department Repeat Offender Program.
The FBI said Hyatt is suspected of being the man armed with a pistol who held up the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union branch on Indian School Road NE on Tuesday.
Witnesses described the robber as being barefoot, heavily tattooed on his lower legs and wearing a blue University of North Carolina ball cap.
On Tuesday a gunman wearing a similar cap held up a Bank of the West branch on Gibson Boulevard SE.
The FBI is still investigating whether Hyatt is responsible for both heists.
The U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office aided in the investigation, according to the FBI.
