ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Albuquerque Metropolitan Area had its first homicide on the first day of the New Year.
Albuquerque police were called to the area of Texas and Copper NE around 9:00 p.m.
There they found a man lying in the middle of the road. He was not breathing and had sustained trauma to his torso.
The man was rushed to University of New Mexico hospital where he later died.
The victim hasn't be identified yet.
An autopsy is pending.
An Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said it's not clear how the man was injured.
