GALLUP, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico man is facing charges after sheriff's deputies say he confessed to robbing his sister.

The Gallup Independent reports 25-year-old Joshua Malone was booked this week on burglary charges in connection with a break-in at the Thoreau home of Jamy Malone.

According to the McKinley County Sheriff's office, Jamy Malone told deputies that someone had used a rock to break a window and steal a number of items, including a 32-inch flat screen television, a laptop computer, two Navajo rugs, DVDs, and a Navajo basket.

She told deputies that her brother later called her to admit that he stole the items.

The brother said he sold some of the items at a truck stop.

It was unclear if he had an attorney.
