Cop resigns amid leak accusations

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque police officer accused of tipping off the targets of a big drug investigation is off the force.

Brad Ahrensfield resigned Monday.

Prosecutors accuse him off leaking sensitive information about a joint FBI and APD investigation into a used car dealership and then lying about it to federal agents.

He's set to go to trial next month on federal charges.
