ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An officer accused of exchanging sexual text messages with a 17-year-old girl whom he had pulled over has filed a racial-discrimination complaint against the Albuquerque Police Department.
Frank Tillman, 30, filed the complaint against APD and Chief Ray Schultz after he was reassigned from the Traffic Unit during investigation by APD Internal Affairs, the Albuquerque Journal reported Friday.
The investigation ended last month with a recommendation to fire Tillman.
Schultz instead suspended Tillman for a month without pay citing his clean record for the seven years he's been on the job.
Tillman filed his complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
