ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Bernalillo County deputies along with US Marshals have arrested a man who was impersonating a cop when he attempted to rob an Albuquerque home.
Investigators say 27-year-old Chris Vallejos showed up to a home near Osuna and Edith just three days after Christmas. When a woman at the home refused to let him inside, she said he flashed a badge and said her husband had an outstanding warrant. When she opened the door, Vallejos allegedly forced his way inside and demanded money.
The woman said Vallejos said he knew the couple owned a small business in town.
The woman said he stole her cell phone, which cops say he later used to post pictures of himself – that same day - on Facebook.
The homeowner was able to identify Vallejos because of the large tattoo on his neck.
