ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Trash, moldy food, broken glass and even rodent droppings is what deputies say a small child was living in as its parents smoked pot just feet away.
Bernalillo County deputies responded to a child welfare check on the 200 block of Camino Cinco in southwest Albuquerque Friday.
That is when they say they found the small child walking around in complete filth.
According to a criminal complaint the home reeked of marijuana.
The parents were in court Saturday on child abuse charges.
The judge had strict orders for them.
“I am concerned too about the allegations in the complaint Ms. Gooch, I will continue the bond $15,000 cash or surety. I don't want you to have any contact with the gentleman that was before the court,” Judge Daniel Ramczyk said.
Deputies say there was no food, juice or even milk in the home.
The child was put in state custody.
