CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) - Police in southeast New Mexico have another homicide investigation on their hands.
This one happened around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Carlsbad police were called to the 1700 block of south Canal in reference to a shooting.
When they got there, officers found 20-year-old Adrian Fierro dead with a gunshot wound to the head.
Detectives have been interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence.
Police say so far, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown.
”We don't have a lot of information surrounding this incident so we're hoping anyone with information will contact police or Crime Stoppers,” Sgt. Jason Griffin said.
Fierro's body was sent to the office of the medical investigator to determine the official cause of death, and hopefully collect more evidence.
