ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The discovery of two bodies in a burned SUV has Bernalillo County sheriff's investigators thinking they may have a pair of murders on their hands.
The SUV was found on Pajarito Road on Albuquerque's Southwest Mesa just before noon Tuesday.
However residents of the remote and sparsely populated area had reported a fire during the night. However by the time firefighters responded it was out, and they couldn't locate the site.
Reports from the scene indicate the bodies are so badly burned their genders could not be determined.
Identifying the victims and determining the causes of death will now be up to the Office of the Medical Investigator.
At last report a three-mile section of Pajarito Road was still closed.
