PREWITT, N.M. (KRQE) - The couple who allegedly fled police leaving a 5-year-old boy behind near Prewitt Monday have been captured in Phoenix, the FBI confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
New Mexico State Police received a tip on the whereabouts of Mark Anthony Cochran, 40, and Elizabeth Cecelia Denman, 41, and relayed it to the FBI in Phoenix. Details of the capture are expected to be released shortly.
The arrests occurred without incident, and a gun was recovered, police said.
The boy was Denman's son, but the boy's father had legal custody. He was abducted at gunpoint in Missouri late Saturday, according to Missouri authorities.

A boy, who was abducted Saturday night in Lake Ozark, Missouri at gunpoint allegedly by his mother and her boyfriend, was found in near Prewitt, New Mexico.
Just before midnight on Sunday, police noticed a car with a burned-out headlight. The officer ran the vehicle's plates and realized that it was a stolen car. The suspects took off.
The officer was able to stop the vehicle near Prewitt using a stop stick. The couple took off on foot.
Officials found the 5-year-old boy, later identified as Devon Denman, inside the car. He was abducted from his family on Saturday. He is now with police and they are trying to contact his family.
Police are still looking for the two suspects. They are described as Mark Anthony Cochran, 40, 5 feet 11 inches with hazel eyes and 280 pounds, last seen wearing a white shirt. Cochran is a registered sex offender with the state of Missouri. The woman is identified as Elizabeth Cecelia Denman, 41, about 5 feet 1 inch, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and wearing dark clothing. Denman is Devon's non-custodial mom.
They are considered armed and dangerous, so if you see them, you are asked to call 911.
