Bomb threat determined to be hoax

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - McKinley Middle School was temporarily evacuated after a student told staff he had a bomb in his backpack.

Albuquerque police say the student had an argument with a classmate and in frustration said he was going to blow the school up. Consequently authorities evacuated the school and APD officers were called in to conduct a sweep of the school.

Officers determined the backpack contained no harmful materials and students were allowed to return to their class.

The student in currently being interviewed at the school by APS personnel.
