ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Albuquerque cop arrested Tuesday for possession of stolen property, made his first appearance before a judge Wednesday.

Daniel Burge, 28, was arrested Tuesday, accused of breaking down the door of a Rio Rancho apartment and stealing a television set that was ultimately found inside his home.

Burge is also part of a steroid investigation involving other officers within APD.

Wednesday his attorney denied any illegal activity.

“I can tell you the steroid allegation in respect to this individual is patently false,” Burge’s attorney, John D’Amato, said.

Burge is out on bond in the case of the stolen TV.

He's been on paid suspension from APD since earlier this month.
