ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police say they've arrested a suspect in the shooting of a man who stepped outside an Albuquerque strip club to smoke a cigarette.
Robert Alexander, 36, is charged with the shooting outside Fantasy World on Jefferson Street NE near Interstate 25 early Saturday morning.
According to police, a fight had broken out in the club, and Alexander had been escorted from the building. He then retrieved a handgun from his car and fired several shots at the building, investigators allege.
The man who took a bullet in his back is expected to recover.
Police described Alexander as a gang associated who recently moved to Albuquerque from Arkansas. He was wanted on a felony warrant issued in Arkansas although details were not released.
Alexander faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is jailed under a $75,000 cash-only bond.
