ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Arizona inmate accused of killing an Oklahoma couple after escaping from prison last summer is scheduled to make an initial appearance Thursday in federal court in Albuquerque.

John McCluskey was one of three inmates who escaped from an Arizona prison last July and went on a crime spree.

He's facing carjacking and murder counts in the deaths of Gary and Linda Haas. The couple's remains were found with their burned-out camping trailer on a remote ranch in eastern New Mexico.

Just two weeks ago, McCluskey was sentenced on the Arizona charges. He received 43 years behind bars for breaking out of prison and abducting two truck drivers whose big rig was used as a getaway vehicle.

The other two defendants in the murder case have already pleaded not guilty.
