TIJERAS, N.M. (KRQE) - Bernalillo County deputies said an argument over a rifle ended with two men shot. One is dead and the other is in the hospital, facing an open count of murder.

The shooting happened at a house on Sedillo Road in Tijeras around 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Kenneth Therell had been arguing with Billy Williamson when shots rang out, according to the sheriff's department.

Both men are in their 50s.

The injuries to Therell were not life threatening, but Williamson died from several gunshot wounds to his back.

Therell will be charged once he's released from the hospital.

A spokesperson for the sheriff said that both men lived together.

A woman was also inside the home at the time of the shooting, but investigators aren't saying anything about her.
