Police wanted to crack down on drunk drivers

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police set up sobriety checkpoints around the city New Year's Eve night, trying to catch drunk drivers. According to police, they arrested 14 people and seized two cars.

For the first time, Albuquerque police used a fleet of unmarked Dodge Chargers to specifically target drunk drivers. At least 30 people were busted for DWIs on New Year's weekend in 2009-2010.
