ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A day and night of drinking ended badly for an Albuquerque couple early Friday when the woman was taken to a hospital while the SWAT team waited to take her boyfriend into custody, according to Albuquerque police.

The incident in the 600 block of Alcazar SE began about 2:30 a.m. with a report of a woman cut and bleeding after being hit in the head.

The boyfriend, identified as Nicholas Henley, 29, wouldn't come out of the home, so the Albuquerque Police Department SWAT team was called in. That shut down the neighborhood until Henley surrendered about 7:15 a.m.

He, too, was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police quoted the woman as saying the couple had been drinking vodka all day and all night.

There was no immediate report on any arrests and charges.
