ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A Rio Rancho woman will be behind bars for three years after she pleaded guilty to helping steal $40,000 from her mother-in-law who suffers from dementia.
Christina Dreischmeyer, 32, was taken into custody late last week on charges of fraud, residential abuse and neglect and attempt to commit larceny.
The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud and Elder Abuse division received a tip from the Bernalillo Police Department that they found suspicious documents tied to Dreischmeyer and her former husband Chris Maecker during an unrelated drug raid.
Maecker is custody on charges related to the theft of $40,000 from his 72-year-old mother.
