ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A former Clovis police officer wants charges against him from a fatal crash dismissed.
Stephen Gallegos' lawyer claims District Attorney Matt chandler interfered with the grand jury that indicted his client.
Gallegos is charged with vehicular homicide for allegedly running a stop sign in his police car and crashing into a truck killing a passenger.
The Clovis news journal reports the lawyer claims the grand jury originally found "no probable cause" on the vehicular homicide count, but reinstated it after the district attorney questioned it.
Chandler told the paper he did nothing wrong.
