ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The FBI is investigating five robberies that may be linked to the same man and it looks like he is getting bolder.

In the first four bank robberies he just handed the teller a note, but Wednesday he pointed a gun at them.

Surveillance pictures of the suspect from Wednesday night show him robbing the Wells Fargo on Coors and Sequoia just before 5 p.m.

He pulled a gun on the teller and demanded cash before taking off.

Officials say he had a dark thick mustache and wore a baseball cap with a U.S. flag on it.

It was the same hat worn by the robber who struck two Albuquerque banks on Tuesday.

The two banks were the New Mexico Bank and Trust on Riverside Plaza and the New Mexico Educator’s Federal Credit Union near Coors and Sequoia.

Those robberies happened about an hour and a half apart.

There are also pictures of another bank robbery from January 23rd at the U.S. Bank on Montgomery.

In that case the man handed the teller a note and when the teller game him money he fled.

A week and a half before that, there was another robbery at the Bank of Albuquerque on Coors, also near Sequoia.

That time the suspect wore a beanie and a hoodie but he looks very similar to the other robbers. He has a dark moustache and has the same build.

He was last seen fleeing that scene on foot.

The FBI is looking to the public for help identifying this suspect.

They are offering a $1,000 reward in this case.

If the suspect is caught, he's looking at more than a 100 years in federal prison.

Each robbery is punishable by a 20 year prison sentence.

The last one would carry a stiffer penalty because a gun was used.
