ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A number of venomous snakes are now at the Albuquerque Zoo after they were removed from an Albuquerque apartment.
Police received a complaint about a man who was keeping the snakes.
Albuquerque Animal Control officers went in Thursday and removed 31 snakes. Authorities said that one by one they found rattlesnakes, a cobra and scorpions inside the apartment.
There's no word if the man who kept the snakes will face any criminal charges.
The Albuquerque Biopark said the reptiles will stay at the zoo, while some of the rattlesnakes could be shipped off to a venom lab for research.
