SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (AP) - Two more people have been arrested in the border town of Sunland Park.
State police on Monday morning arrested former Sunland Park city councilor Angelica Marquez and the city's public information officer, Armando Alba.
Marquez was arrested at her home. Alba was arrested at his city hall office.
The action bring to eight the number of people arrested in the town since allegations surfaced a few weeks ago that then Mayor-Pro Tem Daniel Salinas tried to force an opponent out of the mayoral race with a secretly recorded video of him getting a lap dance. Since then, officials have also alleged widespread voter fraud and Salinas has been arrested and indicted on extortion charges. Salinas also won the election.
