ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A party at a northeast heights apartment complex turned violent after one man was stabbed multiple times.
Police were called to the area of Montgomery and Jefferson around 3 o’clock Tuesday morning.
The investigation is still underway, but officials say it happened at the Sandpiper Apartments on the 4400 block of Montgomery.
Police found the victim on the ground, bleeding severely.
They have not released his name, but say he is at UNM Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials say they have limited details at this time, because witnesses have not been cooperating.
“When officers arrived on scene, they were basically uncooperative in giving us details as far as exactly what has occurred,” Officer Danny Padilla said. “They do know it was based on a party that was going on prior to the actual incident."
Police now say stopped two people in southwest Albuquerque and they are being held for questioning.
So far no one has been charged.
It's unclear if either of the people are potential suspects or additional witnesses.
The Sandpiper Apartments have a history of problems.
Two people were arrested in May of this year for an attempted drive-by shooting and the apartments were the scene of a murder-suicide in October of last year.
