ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Hundreds from across the state raced to Sky City Casino this past weekend to try their luck at securing a spot on the CBS hit show "The Amazing Race."
There was no disgusting food to eat and no naked runs across the casino. However, those challenges may have been easier than what the potential contestants faced.
Moments before teams walked into the audition room, they were told they would have three minutes to talk about themselves.
While some had skits ready to perform, others found that they were speechless.
Still, the hundreds of teams—from mother and son, husband and wife and just old friends—chatted up for the camera in hopes of becoming the next reality show celebrity.
If you take a look back at old episodes of the show, it seems that those most daring have a better shot of making the cut.
Still some wanted to make it clear that they will not be baring it all for television; no ifs, ands or buts about it.
“On the last episode they had people running naked, no neither one of us will be able to do anything naked,” said the Herndons, a husband and wife audition team from Albuquerque.
If the Herndons do make the cut they may change their mind about streaking in front of the camera when they hear they have a chance to win $1 million in prize money.
Amazingly, New Mexico's audition race to secure a spot on the reality T.V. show attracted some teams from California, Arizona and even Florida.
