ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque attorney known for his catchy television commercials and billboards has died.

A spokesman for the Russ Whitener Law Firm says Whitener died Monday after a long battle with cancer.

Whitener was 64-years-old.

Statement from Whitener Law Firm

The Whitener Law Firm team of 22 employees has lost our founder and dear friend, Russell Whitener, who passed away today [February 25, 2013] after a long, valiant battle with cancer.

When Russ established our firm 16 years ago, he set us on our successful path of helping others and of practicing law with honesty, high standards and competitive spirit.

We will miss Russ’ caring heart, his respect for those who serve our country and his compassion for the underdog.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
