ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A teenager is in critical condition after he fell at least 25 feet through a skylight, onto the hard floor of the Taylor Middle School gym.

Bernalillo county sheriff's deputies say the teen was with a group of kids messing around on a middle school roof when he fell.

Deputies say around 1:30 Monday afternoon, four juveniles, between 14-years-old and 15-years-old, were on the roof of Taylor Middle School, near 4th Street and Ranchitos.

APS says the four teens were trying to get into the school when one fell.

Deputies say it does not appear that the kids were trying to break into the school, but they're still investigating what they were up to.

They say no charges will be filed at this time.

APS has tentatively identified the kids as Taft Middle School students.
