ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Forty PNM employees are heading to Washington D.C. to help assist with restoration of potential power outages that could occur when Hurricane Sandy strikes.
The PNM crews along with nine bucket trucks, six line trucks and other utility vehicles left Albuquerque around 2 p.m. Monday.
One of the electrical foremen has daughters living in the path of Hurricane Sandy.
They will be contracting work for Baltimore Gas & Electric. They could work with other companies, depending on where their help is needed.
The crew is expected to arrive in Maryland on Thursday.
PNM will post updates on the restoration efforts on its Facebook page.
