ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The story of a New Mexico woman who lost her baby to a suspected drunk driver has gone national.
Aileen Smith appeared on CNN’s “Newsroom” with anchor Brooke Baldwin Monday.
Smith was seven months pregnant when she was injured in a crash caused by a suspected drunk driver in San Miguel County at the beginning of June.
The child was delivered in a Santa Fe hospital in an effort to save him, but he did not survive.
Smith and her husband are now working with Governor Susana Martinez to seek tougher DWI laws in the state. This work was the topic of Monday’s interview on CNN.
