Man claims to see 'Virgin Mary' in firewood

DEMING, N.M. (AP) - A New Mexico man says he has found the image of the Virgin Mary in a log of firewood.

The Deming Headlight reports ( http://bit.ly/WGrmeA ) that 47-old-year David Morrill, who lives outside of Deming, N.M., stumbled upon the Holy image after placing the wood under his Christmas tree.

According to a photo, an image very similar to La Virgen de Guadalupe, the patron saint of Mexico, is shown in the middle of a cut piece of the log.

Some Catholics believe an appearance of the icon, from an image on a car window to a shape in a tortilla, is a prediction of a future disaster or pending miracle.
