ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Nothing will help brighten up a Monday quite like helping a good cause, getting a hug and a full belly.
And you can do all at that at Tim’s Place Monday .
The Hug-a-Thon has been going on since Saturday and owner, Tim Harris, hopes to meet his goal of giving out 1000 hugs while raising $5,000 for local fighters’ Random Acts Organization.
As of Monday morning Harris had given out 600 hugs and raised over $4,000.
Tim may be one of the only people with Down Syndrome in the US who owns and operations his own restaurant.
The Hug-a-Thon will be going on until 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Monday also happens to be Harris’ birthday and National Hug Day.
