ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - There are over 17,000 children in New Mexico’s foster care system who are looking for permanent loving homes.
The University of New Mexico is looking to help these kids find just that.
Lobo Basketball fans going to home games this season will see portraits of foster children available for adoption on display in the Heart Gallery at the UNM Pit.
Governor Susana Martinez was at the gallery Thursday as the first portraits were put on display.
The Governor encouraged New Mexicans to either adopt children or become foster parents.
