ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two Albuquerque kids got a surprise of a lifetime Monday after their father, a Kirtland Air Force Major, returned home from Afghanistan.
Major Wes Herbet’s wife knew he was on his way home, but not the kids.
That is until he surprised his kids at their school Monday. First he popped in on his daughter at Jackson Middle School and then headed over to Eldorado High School where he walked in on his son’s gym class.
“It was great to be back and be part of my family again. Seeing the look on their face was just a great experience, something I will take with me and hopefully they can take with them for a long time,” Major Herbet told KRQE News 13.
Major Herbet praised his wife Erica for all she did while he was gone.
