ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The Bernalillo County District Attorney will be taking over the case of last month’s deadly crash
involving a sergeant with Albuquerque police.
Sgt. Adam Casaus was off-duty driving his official SUV when he ran a red light and crashed into another car, killing 21-year-old Ashley Browder.
Casaus had his emergency lights on and claimed he was searching for a suspected drunk driver, however there was no evidence of a drunk driver in the area.
The Sheriff’s department has not said what their investigation found – but the District Attorney’s office will evaluate the findings and decide whether to file charges.
