ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - An Albuquerque SWAT officer has been removed from his leadership role after a video captured him bemoaning laws and department policies.
The Albuquerque Journal ( http://bit.ly/Q9vzFk ) reports that Drew Bader will remain on the SWAT team.
Police Chief Ray Schultz says Bader and Sgt. Alex Catsis also were captured on video during a standoff on June 20 making inappropriate comments about the man inside the home and his family.
Schultz says the comments don't reflect a cultural problem on the SWAT team.
But an attorney for the family of Santiago Chavez, who ultimately shot himself, disagrees. Kari Morrissey calls the officers' comments despicable and says they're a reason not to trust the department.
Catsis had been wearing a camera on his lapel. Police released the video this week.
