ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday after he and a car collided in northeast Albuquerque.

Albuquerque police responded to the accident on Spain and Tramway Monday at 6:30 p.m., 30-year-old Lukacs Phipps was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say Phipps was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

While the investigation into the crash is ongoing officers say it appears that Phipps was traveling south on Tramway through the Spain intersection on his motorcycle when he collided with a pickup truck driven by 58-year-old Louis Weichman who was turning from northbound Tramway onto westbound Spain.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney to determine what if any charges are to be filed.
