ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - The New Mexico State Fair is closing Mondays and Tuesdays during its 2010 run to save money.
Some livestock competitions will take place on those days, but the rest of the fair will be closed.
Officials say Mondays and Tuesdays have been the fair's slowest days.
State Fair Commission Chairman David "Hossie" Sanchez says it's a big change, but closing Mondays and Tuesdays makes sense given current economic circumstances.
State Fair officials say 4-H, livestock competitions and some horse shows will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, with entry Gate 8 open to spectators.
The fair opened Friday and runs through Sept. 26.
