Prominent lawyer found dead at home

Foul play not suspected

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - High-profile Albuquerque criminal defense attorney Mary Han was found dead Thursday, and police are investigating the case as not involving foul play.

At about 12:30 p.m. police received a call reporting a death at a home in the 3300 block of Colonade NW. The woman found dead there has been identified as Han, and her family is on the scene, an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said.

Additional details have not yet been released.  The cause of her death is under investigation.

Han was a partner in the firm of Kennedy & Han specializing in civil rights, criminal defense, litigation and domestic relations. A native of South Korea, she graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles and received her law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1985.

She was admitted to the state bar in 1985 and licensed to practice in state and federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court.
